I was defeated by a book. It happens sometimes that you find a book that just doesn't speak to you, just like there are movies and songs that just don't click. Try as I might, I couldn't get into The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen. I tried - probably harder than I should have.
I have been reading Harper Lee's Go Set a Watchmen, and am troubled that I might appreciate this novel more than Mockingbird (despite the earlier book being better).
