Marigolds Interview

Complete the writing prompt, adapted from Springboard page 36.

Writing prompt: In class you should have developed interview questions for a character from “Marigolds,” which you will now use to draft an interview with the character. Answer the questions from the character’s perspective and voice, using details from the text to develop your answers (use the language they would use when responding!) Give your questions in a logical order and ask follow-up questions where appropriate! This interview should sound like a conversation.

Goal is to demonstrate an understanding of voice by reproducing a character’s speech and create an interview transcript that feels authentic.
Exemplary Work accurately captures the nuances of the character’s voice in an interview that feels conversational.
