Your completed magazine section is due, submitted digitally to Mr. Lydon (you can share it with wlydon@coralacademy.org). For this assignment, you must have all aspects of the Class Magazine rubric present and professional in appearance. This is your best work. You must:
Have a completed news article that expresses all the of the relevant details of your topic so that it is comprehensively informative but is without bias (to the best of your ability). Name sources in the text.
Have 2-3 editorials that express an editorial position on the subject of your news article. It attempts to persuade, providing support for a position, arguing against a position, or offering an alternative viewpoint.
Have at least two Editorial Cartoons. These are clearly understandable and show careful revision. Drawings are clean and any writing is legible. Up to three may be included in your magazine section.
Include all provided letters to the editor. Be sure you have identified which fallacies were used in each!
Maintain the integrity of the Template format (provided on the Documents and Downloads page of Lydonteaches.com)
Goals are to carefully read and evaluate the news and editorial content of others to identify weaknesses in argumentation or to clarify our own understanding and to develop a complete magazine section that demonstrates the results of careful research, revision, and collaboration.
Exemplary Work will have no apparent grammatical or mechanical errors and will express perspectives without ambiguity. The template of the magazine section is maintained and the work represents high quality, comprehensive contributions by the entire group.
