Annotate "Martha, Martha" Parts 1 & 2

The story "Martha, Martha" is split into two parts in Springboard, you must annotate *both* parts.

  1. Your annotations for the entire story must include:

    1. questions you have about the text (attempt to answer these questions, too!)

    2. inferences about what is happening and predictions about what may happen

    3. Possible connections to theme topic of "coping with emotional turmoil."

  2. In addition to these general annotations, one passage that *you select* will be carefully annotated. These close annotations should:

    1. Be on a passage no shorter than 1/2 a page and no longer than 2 pages.

    2. Be on a passage that is CLOSELY LINKED to the theme topic of "coping with emotional turmoil." This is connection is the entire reason for selecting the passage!

    3. Include dense annotations of the material above (i, ii, and iii in the general annotations)

    4. Include dense annotations for literary devices and elements (Consider figurative language, symbol, imagery types, and tone)
