Rough Draft of News Article

Complete a rough draft of your news article. This must be a draft that attempts to meet the expectations of the final draft:

  • Establishes an unbiased basis of fact (identifies what is specifically factual)
  • Includes relevant information and data on the history of the issue, the population affected or involved, and other details found through research
  • Presents the perspective of the community through quotes of community members.
  • All sources are cited! (If detailing the governor’s plans for education, credit the newspaper that originally reported on it, for example)
  • Word count: 500-600
